Integrated Programmes



The five-year Integrated B.Sc.(Hons.)-M.Sc. Chemistry program was started in 2016 and the current intake is 40 seats. The UGC recommended Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has been implemented since the inception of the department. This course has an option of exit after completing three years with B.Sc.(Hons.) degree.

  • PO 1: Acquire comprehensive knowledge in the fundamental concepts of inorganic, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry, and other allied subjects.
  • PO 2: Apply the concepts, reasoning and skills gained to address societal and environmental issues.
  • PO 3: Understand the basic principles of equipments, instruments used in chemistry laboratory and demonstrate the experimental techniques and methods of chemistry.
  • PO 4: Communicate the subject effectively through technical writing and oral presentation to technical audience.
  • PO 5: Engage in independent research, identify a research problem, plan a strategy, critically evaluate and interpret the experimental data to find solution for the problem.
  • PO 6: Involve in independent and continuous life-long learning in the context of technological changes for personal growth and employability.
  • PO 7: Develop critical thinking ability to solve problems, act as team player, acquire knowledge to become a skilled project manages and develop ethical awareness.
  • PEO 1: To develop student’s ability and skill to acquire expertise over solving both theoretical and applied chemistry problems.
  • PEO 2: To offer knowledge and skill to the students that will enable them to start further studies in chemistry in multidisciplinary areas, which will ultimately be helpful for self-employment/entrepreneurship.
  • PEO 3: To provide complete discussion about chemistry, chemical equations and its significance rather than mere theoretical aspects.
  • PEO 4: To deliver the up-to-date subject matter, both theoretical as well as practical, such a way to foster their core competency and discovery learning.
  • PEO 5: To promote the student’s holistic development in both academic and non-academic domains and to provide flexibility to students to choose their learning trajectories.
  • PEO 6: To promote ethics, human and constitutional values and to impart life skills such as communication, teamwork etc.
