HoD's Message

Social Work department at Central University of Jammu is involved in the educa-tion and training of social work students since 2014. The department engages in an array of activities for prompting the learning and professional skill building of the students. The pedagogical approach offers a blend of classroom and field immer-sion trainings which are carefully designed and mentored by the department. The department is conscious of the professional growth of the students and organises conferences, workshops, seminars, educational visits and expert lectures, apart from engaging classroom activities. The use of ICT and interactive pedagogy provides a effective learning opportunity. The department focuses upon the all round devel-opment of students and particularly focuses upon their skill enhancement. The dis-cipline has over the years produced professionals whose major property has been working with people for their individual, group and community development. Stu-dents are encouraged to integrate and practice by using local communities as sites for examining the range of issues, problems and concepts studied in class. Present-ly the department is offering two programmes- Masters in Social Work and Ph.D.
