The Department of Public Policy and Public Administration at the Central University of Jammu was founded in July 2013. In that same year, the department introduced an Integrated M.Phil. - Ph.D. course and four elective courses at the master's level, catering to students from various disciplines. The Master's in Public Policy and Public Administration program began in the academic year 2014-15, and subsequently, the department initiated a direct Ph.D. program starting from the academic year 2016.
Recognizing its vast potential, the department is poised for excellence in all its academic pursuits, aiming to integrate the latest developments in the discipline by offering high-quality professional development opportunities for students in both the public and private sectors. At present, Prof. Santap Sanhari Mishra is the Head of the Department.
